Well, another year, now 146 Years Old, Canada celebrated another Birthday.
In it’s usual fashion, the noon show on Parliament Hill, was a success, with it’s plus and minuses. Above all, a BIG Thank You! to all the service personnel, Police, Paramedics, Fire, OC Transpo (Free all day!), RCMP, Red Cross, Scouts and Volunteers that make possible this birthday party.
With the usual arrival of the Governor General, the Prime Minister, Commander Chris Hadfield as a special guest, the military honours, ,the 21 gun salute, and the fly-by of a CF-18, followed up little later by the Snowbirds.
This is the first year I noticed that (a very strong operatic) God Save the Queen, came first, followed by our anthem (weak and hardly audible) Oh Canada!.
Happy 146 Birthday Canada!
